WATCH TODAY’S SERVICE

Today is the first Sunday in Lent. As we begin this holy, somber, serious season we turn to the Gospel of Mark where we read about Jesus baptism, his temptation in the wilderness, and the beginning of His ministry when He proclaims, “The kingdom of God has come near, repent and believe the good news.” This is a typical Lenten passage with Lenten topics such as the Kingdom of God, repentance, and temptation. Our focus will be on the baptism of Christ where God says to Jesus, “You are my Son, the Beloved, with you I am well pleased.” We will also explore the scene of Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness. As we unpack these stories, we learn who Jesus is and in the process gain some understanding of who we are also. Come and join us for worship as we do some self-examination and answer the question “Who are you?” – In Christ, Rev. Stephen Coleman

OPPORTUNITIES

“GRACE STILL WORKS” VISIONING STUDY

Join us @ 10:00 am in Sunday School

In Sunday school, you will be invited to take part in the final week of our churchwide study Grace Still Works written by Rev. Dr. Pete Moon. Each week, we have shared a survey with you that our Church Council will use to establish a vision for Reveille in the coming years. The study is designed to help our congregation think about what we believe and put those beliefs to work in a way that changes us and our community. Learn more

MEET LOCAL AUTHOR ROBIN FARMER

This Sunday on Zoom @ 6:00 pm

You are invited to a program with Robin Farmer, author of Malcolm and Me. Her debut novel was a 2019 winner of the She Writes Press and SparkPress Toward Equality in Publishing (STEP) Contest. Malcolm and Me is an examination of the anguish teens experience when their growing awareness of themselves, and the world around them, unravels their sense of security.
