6-12 grades, youth center middle school room
Youth Sunday school meets in the youth center and explores topics throughout the Bible and special studies throughout the year.

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL

September-May | Meets at 9:30 am

The Compass, Chapel, In-Person

  • Class Leaders: Taylor Brewer and Scott Rowe
  • Demographics: ages 30-50, married with children
  • Class Studies: The class uses the Weekly Scripture Guide (GPS) which explores key scriptures and questions that help us prepare our hearts and minds for the upcoming sermon, while also focusing on Christ and making connections to our lives.
  • Outside of Reveille: The class holds additional, family-friendly fellowship opportunities outside class.

Covenant, Youth Center High School Room, Zoom and In-Person

  • Class Leaders: Carol Hampton, Bob Downs, Vickey Verway, Jane Tucker
  • Demographics: ages 60-80, most are grandparents, a mix of couples and singles
  • Class Studies: Bible studies, Christian spirituality, social justice issues, current events, and issues of contemporary life are the topics of focus for the class. Each week, there is a robust discussion directed by a designated leader for each class.
  • Outreach: Class members are involved in many of Reveille’s outreach and ministry programs including the Swansboro Elementary Ministry, the Pace Center at VCU, Reveille’s music ministry, United Women of Faith, Men’s Prayer Breakfast, Reveille Book Group, and more.
  • Outside of Reveille: The class enjoys organizing activities and spending time together outside of church.

Growing in Grace, Room 207, In-Person

  • Class leadership is shared among the members and class
  • Demographics: ages 30+, a mix of parents of children and youth and singles
  • Class Studies: Studies vary between Bible and faith book studies and class discussions using Reveille’s Weekly Scripture Guide (GPS). Occasionally the class hosts guest speakers.

Journey, Room 211, In-Person

  • Class Leaders: Nancy Shepherd, Rick Farmer, and Carol Kern
  • Demographics: ages 50-70+, a mix of couples and singles
  • Class Studies: The class participates in church-wide, Advent, and Lenten studies, and reads books by Methodist leaders like Adam Hamilton and Tom Berlin. They also have guest speakers during the year.
  • Outreach: The class participates in the UMFS Angel Tree program at Christmas.
  • Outside of Reveille: The class is social and hosts potlucks, gatherings, and outings in the Richmond area. They also enjoy spending time together outside of class.

Logos, Room 105, Zoom and In-Person

  • Class Leaders: Ginny Dunn, Bonnie Ferguson
  • Demographics: ages 30-70+, some with adult children and grandchildren, mostly single women
  • Class Studies: The class focuses on specific books, topics, or themes found throughout the Bible and sometimes uses Reveille’s Weekly Scripture Guide (GPS). They also have guest speakers from inside and outside of Reveille during the year.
  • Outside of Reveille: Periodically we go to lunch or host an annual dinner party outside of class.

Seek First, Room 206, In-Person

  • Class Contact: Mel Ely
  • Demographics: a small class, ages 40-70, all are married, some with children and grandchildren
  • Class Studies: Some examples of class topics include faith and society, including equity and inclusion, faith and science, and Biblical interpretation and scholarship. The class often has intense discussions in an atmosphere of love and respect.

Wesleyan Fellowship, Choir Room, Zoom and In-Person

  • Class Leaders: TBD for 2024-2025
  • Demographics: Various ages, a mix of singles and couples, most have adult children
  • Class Studies: This is a caring adult Bible class rejoicing in Christian fellowship. On the Lord’s Day, they sing their favorite hymns, devote prayerful attention to God’s blessings, and expand their knowledge of God’s word through Bible study, and invited lecturers. The class publishes a weekly newsletter, Sheepshank, and involves its members as prayer partners.
  • Outreach: Rebuilding schools in Sierra Leone, Africa in partnership with Truth Ministries Church, Hitting Cancer Below the Belt, United Methodist Family Services, Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU, Old Brunswick Circuit Foundation, Better2gether RVA, Gideons, meals for the Richmond Police Third Precinct officers and staff, Caritas, VCU Pace Center, and in 2024 started the monthly Fellowship Club.
  • Outside of Reveille: The class hosts an annual Advent brunch and summer picnic and organizes occasional field trips.
