Reveille UMC Structure

REVEILLE’S VISION

We welcome all people to follow Jesus Christ and serve together as a hub of faith, hope, and action.

VISION-ALIGNED STRUCTURE

Reveille’s charge conference met Tuesday, August 22, 2023, and voted to approve a plan to structure our church so that our ministries, staff, and operations are aligned with our vision. The charge conference also formally approved the adoption of the vision statement: “We welcome all people to follow Jesus Christ and serve together as a hub of faith, hope, and action.”

The new structure, implemented in January 2024, prioritizes our ministries of welcome, inclusion, worship, discipleship, connection, and service. The structure changes fell into three principal areas:
1. Aligning ministries and staff with the vision focus areas.
2. Redefining the leadership role of Church Council to focus on long-range strategic planning and accountability to our vision.
3. Increasing operational efficiency by consolidating two administrative committees, Staff-Parish Relations and Finance, into one committee.

OUR VISION FOCUS AREAS

Welcome and Inclusion
Because we believe every person is created in the image of God and the grace of Christ extends to everyone, we will welcome and include all people without exception so that they will know and experience God’s love and the power of the Holy Spirit.

Discipleship
Because we believe faith is a lifelong commitment and journey of growing closer to God and neighbor, we will take intentional steps to deepen our relationship with Christ so that as transformed people, we share and multiply the love and grace of God into the world.

Hub
Because we believe God binds us together amidst our differences to love and care for our neighbors, we will be a hub of faith, hope, and service in our greater Richmond community so that all people have abundant access to what we need to thrive together.

OUR STATEMENT OF INCLUSIVITY

Reveille Welcomes All People
We embrace an inclusive faith and welcome everyone without exceptions for age, race, ethnic background, national origin, mental or physical ability, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, education, family or socioeconomic status, or faith history.
