Financial Administrator (part time)
We are seeking a part-time Financial Administrator to join our staff at Reveille United Methodist Church in Richmond, Va.
The Financial Administrator supports the ministries and mission of the church by ensuring that financial records are updated in a timely, accurate manner following the church’s financial policies and procedures. Responsibilities include maintaining financial accounts and records; maintaining internal controls; budgeting and financial reporting; administering payroll; compliance; and maintaining donor contribution records.
The qualified applicant will hold a bachelor’s or associate’s degree in bookkeeping, accounting, or related field from an accredited college or university (or comparable experience), and three or more years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in a church setting. A proven record of trustworthiness and honesty and excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
The successful candidate will be skilled in bookkeeping and accounting practices, and will have experience with payroll systems (experience with Paychex preferred), the financial management system Sage50, and databases or church management systems. A successful background check is required for this position prior to hire.
This is a part-time, non-exempt, salaried position of approximately 24 hours per week with some flexibility in scheduling. Compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications. The church offers part-time employees a 403(b) retirement plan with up to a 6% match.
