Swansboro Partners Food Drive through March 15
The winter months are a critical time for food pantries and we are partnering with Fonticello Food Forest and Koinonia Community Church to help fill their shelves! Starting on February 15, please place donations of non-perishable food items on the shelves in the welcome center or bins outside. View needed items and drop-off details

Lenten Sermon Series “Out of the Wilderness,” February 22-March 29
Wilderness is real. Today it seems even more so.   Jesus lived there for forty days but made his way out, even if it was towards a cross.  For these weeks of Lent, we are going to look hard at those contemporary places of wilderness that come our way.  Come join us each week as we follow Jesus “Out of the Wilderness”, both then and now! This year’s Lenten offering supports Helping Children Worldwide, a Christian nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and families through education, health care, and spiritual mentoring. Make your donation now. To donate by cash or check, please note “Lenten Offering” on your check memo or offering envelope.

Dedicate Flowers for Our Easter Services
You can make a dedication in honor or memory of a loved one and help beautify Reveille’s worship spaces on Easter Sunday. To have your dedication included in the Easter flower dedication listing on Easter Sunday, April 5, place your order online by March 22. You may also complete and return a paper form with your donation by mail or in the offering plate no later than March 22. Forms are also available at the worship check-in tables or from the church office. The suggested donation per dedication is $20.

This Month: Help with the Friends of the Homeless
Can you help Friends of the Homeless by making a casserole, purchasing food, or preparing food at Reveille that will be delivered and served at Greater Mt. Moriah Baptist Church? Sign up to help on February 26. On Sunday, February 22, come to the welcome center and pack bagged lunches after the 8:30 am service (no sign up).

Blueberry Garden Pruning at Shalom Farms, February 24
Join us at Shalom Farms, a Reveille food insecurity partner, for blueberry garden clean-up, including pruning, and clearing winter leaves, on Tuesday, February 24, 1:00-4:00 pm, at their Northside garden (1311 Westwood Ave., Richmond). Sign up to participate

Resisting Racial Injustice Conference, February 28
You are invited to this conference at Belmont UMC in Richmond on Saturday, February 28, 9:30 am-4:00 pm. The keynote speaker is Rev. Ben Campbell. Three workshops will also be offered, including Conversations as Resistance, Non-Violent Direct Action as Resistance, and Spiritual Formation as Resistance. The cost to attend is $20 and includes lunch. Learn more and register

Youth Sunday, March 1
Come celebrate our youth ministry as they lead the 11:00 am service with music and preaching next Sunday, March 1. At our 8:30 and 9:30 am services, Rev. Stephen Coleman will preach the sermon “Out of the Dark…Again?”

Comfort and Support Basket Ministry, March 7
Come be part of a new monthly group led by Julie Rector, dedicated to intentional, prayerful work creating comfort and support baskets for members of our church family. The group will hold its first meeting on Saturday, March 7, at 10:00 am in the welcome center. Learn more and register to attend by February 28.

Guest Preacher Bishop Tom Berlin, March 8
We are excited to welcome Florida Episcopal Area Bishop Tom Berlin as our guest preacher at the 8:30, 9:30, and 11:00 am services on Sunday, March 8. His sermon will focus on John 4 and the woman at the well.

Register for Safe Sanctuaries Training, March 8
Safe Sanctuaries training will be offered on Sunday, March 8, at 2:00 pm on Zoom. The session will be led by Karen Rios and covers Reveille’s policies and procedures that help protect both children and volunteers. To register and receive the Zoom link, visit www.bit.ly/ss-mar26.

Singers Liz Nance and Russell Lawson at Fellowship Club, March 10
You are invited to a live musical performance and lunch on Tuesday, March 10, at 11:00 am in the fellowship hall. This duo performs popular classic songs, including pop, country, bluegrass, Irish and American folk, oldies, light rock, and jazz. Lunch will follow their program. Register to attend

Gun Violence Prevention Forum, March 11
Join us for a forum on Gun Violence Prevention to learn how church communities and residents can work with local government officials and community partners to reduce gun violence. The program will take place on Wednesday, March 11, with a reception in the welcome center at 5:30 pm, followed by the forum at 6:00 pm in the sanctuary. Panelists participating in the event include United Methodist Church Virginia Conference Bishop Sue Haupert-Johnson, Richmonders Involved to Strengthen Our Communities (RISC) Leader and Pastor Marvin Gilliam, City of Richmond Office of Gun Violence Prevention Director Greg Hopkins, Sgt. Tish Cushenberry from the Richmond Police Department, and T. Jasen Cooper, Associate Director for Climate and Culture for Richmond Public Schools. The panel will be moderated by WRIC-TV 8 News Anchor Eric Philips. This event is open to everyone, so please invite your neighbors, friends, and family to be part of this important conversation. Books and a Workshop on Breathwork, March 15
Are you looking for new ways to relieve stress? Reveille’s library has books focusing on ways to create calm in your life. Angela Cox will also host the workshop “Managing Stress Through Breathwork” on Sunday, March 15, at 12:15 pm in the library. Bring a lunch, and drinks and dessert will be provided. RSVP to attend

Prison Ministry Dinner Programs, April 8 and 15
Join Reveille United Methodist Church and Koinonia Community Church for evening programs in the fellowship hall on prison ministry. On April 8, Rev. Jim Melson will discuss the history of mass incarceration. On April 15, Pastor Jay Scruggs will talk about the importance of prison ministry. A dinner will be served before each program. Celebrate Reveille’s 75th Anniversary, June 14
Save the date for Reveille’s 75th anniversary celebration, themed “Where Faith Becomes Family,” on Sunday, June 14! We will have one worship service at 10:00 am in the sanctuary. Then, everyone is invited to enjoy a delicious barbecue lunch with all the fixings, plus lots of fun activities like bounce houses, a magician, a balloon artist, and more!

  • Kids Camp, June 15-18: This fun-filled summer mission camp for rising third to sixth graders focuses on daily mission trips throughout Richmond, music, art, and activities that serve God and others. Register here
  • Vacation Bible School, July 13-16: Children aged 4 to rising second grade will enjoy rotations between a variety of activities, and the theme “Snowball Mountain Challenge” will focus on how we find our strength in God. Register here

We will participate in the Music and Worship Arts Week at Lake Junaluska in North Carolina, June 21-26, 2026! This retreat center offers Christian hospitality, vibrant worship, seminars, concerts, outdoor recreation, and more in a beautiful lakefront setting. Join the Medical Mission Trip to Honduras, July 11-18
The Friends of Barnabas Medical Mission Team will travel to Honduras, July 11-18, 2026. We are currently seeking licensed healthcare providers, including those with an MD, NP, PA, and RN degree. If you would like to learn more about this impactful ministry and how to join our 2026 trip, please contact team leader Claire Kaugars.

WEEKLY GROUPS

Mondays: Join the Gun Violence Prevention Group
Each Monday at 1:00 pm, Reveille’s Gun Violence Prevention Group will gather by the bell located on the grounds outside of the youth center. They will ring the bell and pray for recent victims of gun violence. In inclement weather, the group will gather in the chapel. All are invited to get involved. Learn more

Mondays: Men’s Prayer Breakfast
Start your week off with breakfast, fellowship, prayer, and devotions. Men of all ages are invited to be part of the group which meets in the fellowship hall, 7:00-8:00 am, every Monday. For more information, contact Jim Tucker.

Join Our Wednesday Walking Group
Our weekly walking group meets on Wednesday mornings at 7:30 am in the rear parking lot to enjoy fellowship while walking through the community around Reveille. It’s a great way to start a fitness routine! To join the group, contact Rev. Stephen Coleman.

Connect with Vibrant Life Young Adult Ministries
This group is an inclusive and welcoming faith-centered community for young adults focused on fostering spiritual growth and meaningful connections. The group gathers on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm in the youth center. Learn more

Faithful Friends Cancer Group
Reveille’s cancer support group is open to those diagnosed with cancer, those undergoing treatment, cancer survivors, and cancer caregivers. The group will provide spiritual support, resources, and educational opportunities through monthly meetings. To join the group, email Rev. Stephen Coleman.
