Support Helping Children Worldwide Through the Easter Offering
This year’s Easter offering supports Helping Children Worldwide, a Christian nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and families through education, health care, and spiritual mentoring. Make your donation now. To donate by cash or check, please note “Easter Offering” on your check memo or offering envelope.
Good Friday Service, April 3
Our 7:00 pm sanctuary service will be inspired by the seven last words of Jesus from the cross. Rev. Stephen Coleman will preach and our Chancel Choir will offer music. The service will also be livestreamed.
Easter Sunday, April 5
Celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ with Holy Communion, triumphant worship music, and an inspirational message of hope. Bring flowers to adorn the cross in front of Reveille.

Child care for children ages 3 months to 6 years will be available in room 102 for all services, except 6:45 am. Sunday school classes and afternoon activities will not meet on Easter.
Prison Ministry Dinner Programs, April 8 and 15
Join Reveille United Methodist Church and Koinonia Community Church for evening programs in the fellowship hall on prison ministry. On April 8, Rev. Jim Melson will discuss the history of mass incarceration. On April 15, Pastor Jay Scruggs will talk about the importance of prison ministry. A dinner will be served before each program. Be Part of the Women’s Book Group, April 9
Begin reading James: A Novel by Percival Everett and join the group for a discussion on Thursday, April 9, at 1:00 pm on Zoom or in the church parlor. This book is an action-packed reimagining of Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, both harrowing and darkly humorous, told from the enslaved Jim’s point of view. Learn more
United Women in Faith Opportunities in April
The Susanna Wesley Circle invites all women to their monthly meeting on Tuesday, April 14, at 6:30 pm. They will have a contemplative prayer walk around Reveille’s grounds, then gather for a light meal. Please RSVP to attend. United Women in Faith Sunday will be on April 19, with Rev. Katie B. Gooch preaching during morning services.
Join Reveille’s Massey Challenge Team, April 18
The Monument Avenue 10k takes place on Saturday, April 18, and we invite you to join Reveille’s Massey Challenge Moving with the Spirit Team! The team is open to everyone, not just race participants, and funds raised will support cancer research at VCU Massey Cancer Center. Support the team
Discussion on Turning Loneliness Into Solitude, April 19
Bring a lunch and discuss the differences between loneliness and solitude, practical steps for transformation, and look at solitude as a spiritual practice, as Jesus showed us. This gathering will take place on Sunday, April 19, following the 11:00 am service in the adult library (room 109). RSVP by April 17 by emailing Kathy Rainey.
Help Friends of the Homeless, April 23 and 26
Can you help Friends of the Homeless by making a casserole, purchasing food, or preparing food at Reveille that will be served at Greater Mt. Moriah Baptist Church? Sign up to help on April 23. On Sunday, April 26, come to the welcome center and pack bagged lunches after the 8:30 am service (no sign up)
Rehab a Home with Rebuilding Together, April 25
Come join a team of Reveille volunteers and help repair a home for someone in need right here in our Richmond community. Morning, afternoon, and full-day shifts are available on Saturday, April 25. Several helpers are needed, and children age 10 and older can help with a parent. Lunch will be provided. Sign up to help
Children Choirs and Swansboro Elementary Concert, April 28
Everyone is invited to a night of wonderful music offered by Reveille’s Children’s Choirs and the Swansboro Elementary School Choir on Tuesday, April 28, at 6:30 pm in the sanctuary followed by an informal reception in the welcome center. Come out and support our young musicians!
Children’s Sunday and Musical, May 3
During the 11:00 am service on Sunday, May 3, our Children’s Choirs and Ringers will offer the musical Oh, Jonah! This will be a “whale of a good time” as the story of the prophet is brought to life with music.
Mission Benefit Concert, May 3
Join us on Sunday, May 3 at 4:00 pm in the sanctuary for this year’s concert! Our Chancel Choir will team up with Vox Humana and a guest orchestra to perform the thrilling Dvořák Te Deum, along with other repertoire for choir and orchestra. The Reveille Ringers will also perform on this festive occasion. Our beneficiary will be the Tee Jay Vikings Fund, which supports Thomas Jefferson High School by funding solutions for academics, athletics, the arts, extracurricular activities, and facilities.
Wiggle Church for Children and Parents, May 7
Children and their families are invited to attend our very first Wiggle Church together on Thursday, May 7, 12:15-1:00 pm, in Reveille’s fellowship hall! Kids and their parents will enjoy a Bible message, activities, music, and lunch in a fun and relaxed service. Please RSVP to attend by May 4.
Singer Amy Ladd Returns to Fellowship Club, May 12
You are invited to a music-filled program with classic country and gospel singer, Amy Ladd, at Fellowship Club on Tuesday, May 12, 11:00 am-1:00 pm, in the fellowship hall. We will enjoy a delicious fried chicken lunch and ask guests to bring a side dish or dessert to share. RSVP to attend the program and lunch.
Register for the Teaching Session on Esther, May 31
To enrich your experience with our upcoming Esther youth musical, we invite you to a special teaching session on the book of Esther that will be led by Jennifer McCluskey and Daniel Banke on Sunday, May 31, at 9:30 am in the chapel. Please register to attend.
Esther Youth Musical, June 5-7
Our youth are preparing the full-length musical Esther by Martin and Janice Landry this spring, and we invite you to save the date for these exciting performances! The show will be offered to the general public on June 5 and 6 at 7:00 pm, and June 7 at 2:00 pm. RSVP to attend
Celebrate Reveille’s 75th Anniversary, June 14
Make plans to join us for Reveille’s 75th anniversary celebration, themed “Where Faith Becomes Family,” on Sunday, June 14! We will have one worship service at 10:00 am in the sanctuary. Then, everyone is invited to enjoy a delicious lunch catered by Deep Run Roadhouse, plus lots of fun activities like bounce houses, Jonathan the Juggler, a balloon artist, music, and more! RSVP to attend by May 29.
Registration is now open for our children’s summer programs!
- Kids Camp, June 15-18: This fun-filled summer mission camp for rising third to sixth graders focuses on daily mission trips throughout Richmond, music, art, and activities that serve God and others. Register here
- Vacation Bible School, July 13-16: Children aged 4 to rising second grade will enjoy rotations between a variety of activities, and the theme “Snowball Mountain Challenge” will focus on how we find our strength in God. Register here

Mondays: Join the Gun Violence Prevention Group
Each Monday at 1:00 pm, Reveille’s Gun Violence Prevention Group gathers in the sanctuary. They ring a bell and pray for recent victims of gun violence. All are invited to get involved. Learn more
Mondays: Men’s Prayer Breakfast
Start your week off with breakfast, fellowship, prayer, and devotions. Men of all ages are invited to be part of the group which meets in the fellowship hall, 7:00-8:00 am, every Monday. For more information, contact Jim Tucker.
Mondays: Beautify the Grounds with the Garden Committee
Reveille’s Garden Committee invites you to join them in the gardens on Mondays, 9:00-11:00 am. You will learn skills in gardening, help the grounds and gardens stay beautiful, and enjoy fellowship. All ages are welcome. For more information, email Jim Overacre.
Join Our Wednesday Walking Group
Our weekly walking group meets on Wednesday mornings at 7:30 am in the rear parking lot to enjoy fellowship while walking through the community around Reveille. It’s a great way to start a fitness routine! To join the group, contact Rev. Stephen Coleman.
Connect with Vibrant Life Young Adult Ministries
This group is an inclusive and welcoming faith-centered community for young adults focused on fostering spiritual growth and meaningful connections. The group gathers on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm in the youth center. Learn more
Faithful Friends Cancer Group
Reveille’s cancer support group is open to those diagnosed with cancer, those undergoing treatment, cancer survivors, and cancer caregivers. The group will provide spiritual support, resources, and educational opportunities through monthly meetings. To join the group, email Rev. Stephen Coleman.
