TODAY’S SERMON
Our worship service this week takes place in the beginning of September. We are two thirds through 2020. A lot has happened and continues to happen in our world and in our lives this year. Today we begin a sermon series entitled “2020: What Have We Learned?” With so much of our lives changed because of COVID, one of the things I have learned is that we are facing some kind of grief. We grieve the lives that have been lost and we are grieving the many ways life is more different now than pre-COVID. Our focus for this worship service will be grief. We will define grief and talk a lot about our emotions. We will also read a story from 2 Samuel where David faces the loss of King Saul and his best friend, Jonathan. As we learn how David faces his grief, we will also learn how we should face our grief. Grief is a difficult topic to face but there is hope in the midst of it as well. We invite you to join us for worship this Sunday. – In Christ, Associate Pastor Rev. Stephen Coleman
