Gun Violence Prevention Forum

Thank you to everyone who joined us to be part of the conversation about the impact of gun violence in Richmond and how residents and churches can help build a safer, better community. The program took place on March 11, 2026, in Reveille’s sanctuary. Virginia Attorney General Jay Jones and Rev. Dr. Peter Moon offered opening remarks.

Rev. Dr. Art Thomas preached at this service. The title of his sermon was “Repentance is the Key,” using scriptures from Isaiah 58:1-12, Psalm 51:1-17, and Matthew 6:16-21. Rev. Dr. Thomas is an adjunct professor of church history and spirituality at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C., and a retired United Methodist elder who has been attending Reveille since 2019.

2026 State of the Church

Our annual State of the Church gathering took place on Zoom, February 3, 2026. Rev. Dr. Peter Moon and Tom Cantone reviewed how Reveille did in 2025 and plans for 2026. Florida Episcopal Area Bishop Tom Berlin also joined the conversation as our guest speaker to talk about what makes churches thrive.
