HONDURAS 2025 MEDICAL MISSION TRIP
Reveille will take a medical team to Honduras in the summer of 2025 (dates available soon). This is a transformative experience serving underresourced communities in rural mountain communities. Team members must be at least 18 years old and fully COVID vaccinated and boosted. Spanish-speaking medical and non-medical volunteers are desired. If you are interested in joining the 2025 trip, please email Chris Baker or Claire Kaugars.
For more information about the Friends of Barnabas medical mission, visit www.fobf.org. View this year’s trip blog to learn more about how they served communities in need.

REVEILLE’S 2024 TEAM
Reveille Mountain Medical Team with Friends of Barnabas traveled to Honduras July 13-20 this summer with the perfect team for the job. We were staffed with a fantastic medical team of Reveille members, including Mary Michael Schweiker, MD, pediatrician, and Sarah Nash, RN, as well as multiple-time team member, Janet Pinson, NP, who examined families to detect medical issues for treatment or referral. Other Reveille members who accomplished many crucial tasks were Lauren Adkins and Chris Baker with Claire Kaugars, DDS, spending her time in the dental clinic. As a first-time collaboration, we were fortunate to have three students from the Pace Center community at VCU, including Flor Franco, Katie Franco, and Karen Saint Fleur. With fluent Spanish, Flor stepped in as a triage nurse and translator at registration with her sister, Katie, helping out with translation in the medical clinic. Karen assisted in many clinical areas. Larrie Dean connected with Friends of Barnabas, stepped on the team, and helped handle the influx of all patients from registration. In one town that Mary Michael and Janet had visited with FOB in 2022, they noted a tremendous improvement in the health of the community because of medical problems noted in 2022 and changes implemented in the community since that time. With God’s hand, the right team made its way to Honduras to cover assignments needed and fit into the smooth-functioning Honduran machine to form what makes up the Mountain Medical Team.
Also, a thank you to Reveille’s Kids Camp which raised money for soccer balls for the community! In the eyes of the Honduran children, there is nothing more special than receiving a brand-new soccer ball. It gets taken to the nearby field and the game begins immediately with lots of smiles on the faces of the children. What brings the Honduran children and the children from Reveille together is the love of soccer and the joy of these special gifts.
