Sunday, December 22
4:00 PM, CHAPEL
The Christmas story is about the birth of a child; it is a story where we speak about hope, comfort, and peace. Yet, the reality of the world also shows us that there is much death, grief, darkness, and loss. As Adam Hamilton says, “the promise of Christmas stands in contrast to the reality of the world.” To help us face and cope with the reality of the world, we invite you to come to our Service of Remembrance. This service is our version of a Blue Christmas. As we sing hymns, read scripture, pray, light candles, and gather together, we find strength, healing, and hope to face and overcome the darkness of the world around us.
Whatever your grief may be or however long you have borne it, we invite you to join us on Sunday, December 22, at 4:00 pm in our chapel. A short reception will follow the service in the welcome center.
In Christ,
