ABOUT

The Monument Avenue 10k takes place on Saturday, April 12, and we invite you to join our Massey Challenge Moving with the Spirit Team! The Massey Team is open to everyone, not just race participants, and funds raised will support cancer research that is saving lives at Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center, all part of the Massey Challenge. Check out the next section to learn how you can help our team receive a $5,000 match!

If you are able, we also invite you to register separately for the 10k as a walker or runner on our Moving with the Spirit team! Join us for our Moving with the Spirit porch party on Saturday, April 12. Learn more in our sign-up section below!

SIGN UP FOR OUR MOVING WITH THE SPIRIT TEAM

Step 1 (required)

We have just received an incredible offer. An anonymous donor has agreed to donate up to $5,000 to Reveille’s Moving with the Spirit. This donor will donate $50 to any team member who raises $50 or more on our Moving with the Spirit page, until the $5,000 is used up. You can join the team, raise (or donate to your own page) $50, and that $50 will be matched. We can turn $5,000 into $10,000, all going toward cancer research here in RVA!

You DO NOT have to run, walk, or volunteer at the Monument Avenue 10K to earn this match.

Follow these simple steps to help us earn this match!

  1. Click here to visit our team page – IMPORTANT: scroll down until you see the yellow “JOIN OUR TEAM” button.
    1. Do not click on “DONATE,” but rather the “JOIN OUR TEAM” button
    2. Donating is great, but it won’t earn the match unless you have created your own page first by selecting “JOIN OUR TEAM.”
  2. After clicking “JOIN OUR TEAM,” set up your personal Massey Challenge page, telling how you have been affected by cancer.
  3. If you desire, you can donate to your own page. To get credit for the match, donate to your personal page.
  4. Share your personal page with friends and family, either by email, on social media, or both.
    1. Tell everyone how your life has been impacted by cancer.
    2. Tell everyone how Massey is saving lives right here in RVA.
  5. If your page generates $50 or more, and you are one of the first 100 on our team to reach this goal, your donation will be matched. (This will be done manually and may take a few days).

REGISTER FOR THE MONUMENT AVE 10K

Step 2 (optional)

If you would also like to participate as a walker or runner in the Monument Avenue 10k as a member of our Moving with the Spirit Team, you will need to register for the race here. There is also an income-based rate that you can learn about here.

Kids aged 4-12 can also join in the fun and participate in the one-mile 10k Mini on April 12, part of the Monument Avenue 10k activities! This is a great way to show them how fun running can be and involve the whole family! Register for the kid’s race here.

Additional Opportunities

Everyone who joins the Moving with the Spirit team or registers as a team runner or walker will be invited to a porch party on Monument Avenue! Check this page and church emails for additional information as we approach race day.
