Come to Leisure Club on the third Tuesday of the month, September-May. We start with an entertaining program at 11:00 am. Bring your favorite side dish or dessert to share at the luncheon following the program. The main dish and beverages are provided. Everyone is welcome at Leisure Club, so please invite a friend or neighbor to come along! Our facilities are accessible.
January 21 | Flights, Fancy, and Fun
Randy and Barbara Fitzgerald share stories of their life together. They both met while writing columns for the Richmond Times-Dispatch and their paths led them into hilarious conversations and circumstances. After being together many years, they published the book “Flights of Fancy” featuring some of their funny and entertaining life experiences. Save the date for this program!
February 18 | Old-fashioned Hymn Sing
Join Daniel Banke, Reveille’s director of music, in an old-fashioned sing-along with some of our favorite hymns. It will be a time of fond memories and Daniel will share some history to connect with the hymns selected. Come and celebrate our blessings in song! Leisure Club members will have the opportunity to pre-request hymns from current and past hymnals.
March 17 | Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Our American Flag
Our guest, Dean Decker, will share his extensive knowledge of the American flag and its history. Dean taught biology at the University of Richmond for over 20 years, is a veteran, and volunteers at the Virginia War Memorial. This will be an insightful program you won’t want to miss!
April 21 | Squeeze Play
Talented musicians return to Leisure Club in April! Come see Ed Polich on the accordion and Paul Muller on the guitar for a morning of fantastic music. They will present a wide variety of music, so this will be a program you won’t want to miss.
May 19 | Mountains, Madness & Miracles
Meet author and hiker Lauralee Bliss and learn about her experiences as she walked the Appalachian Trail. She will share how writing and a hiking adventure can intertwine to bring forth an intriguing story. Her most recent book is “Gaters, Cuts and Glory – Adventures on the Florida Trail.” This should be an interesting program as we wrap up our spring meetings.
