Lenten Mission Concert - Mass in Time of War by Joseph Haydn

Thursday, March 20

The Chancel Choir will collaborate with local orchestral musicians to perform the Mass in Time of War (“Paukenmesse”) by Joseph Haydn on Thursday, March 20, 7:00-8:00 pm, in the sanctuary. Featured performers include Keely Borland (soprano), Brittany Brooks (mezzo-soprano), Aaron Todd (tenor), Aiden Collawn (bass-baritone), and Lamon Lawhorn (timpani). The Reveille Ringers will also perform “Festival Sanctus” by Cathy Moklebust as part of this Lenten concert.

This year’s Lenten Mission Concert supports UMCOR’s U.S. Disaster Response and Recovery, including recovery efforts for the recent California fires. Make your donation here. To donate by cash or check, please be sure to note “UMCOR Lenten Offering” on your check memo or offering envelope.

A reception will follow the concert in the welcome center. Child care will be available in room 102 and is recommended for young children.

In June, our Chancel Choir will be joining other choirs to sing Mass in Time of War at Carnegie Hall under the direction of Julie Yu, courtesy of National Concerts.
