WE: Witness & Engagement

Reveille UMC

Welcoming and Engaging

Reveille's Witness & Engagement ministries focus on welcoming and engaging visitors and members alike. The committee does this by encouraging invitation to our church, by welcoming and ministering to visitors, by laying a foundation for membership commitment, by engaging new members, by ensuring continual engagement of all members as we seek to become transformed disciples of Christ, and by encouraging all of us to grow in Christ by witnessing our faith.

Athletics
Reveille fields athletic teams for adults (age 18 and up), including a basketball team each winter and a co-ed softball team each summer.  Softball Information
Reveille also offers Tee-Ology each spring.
Join Associate Pastor Stephen Coleman for a round of golf on Friday mornings during April and May. Golfers gather at a local golf course around 8:30 am to share in fellowship, fun, and perhaps a little theology here and there. No matter what your golf skill level, you are welcome. For more information, contact Stephen Coleman

Coffee Fellowship
Join others for fellowship, coffee, and light snacks in the welcome center each Sunday, 10:30-11:00 am. Coffee fellowship is a great way to meet new people and welcome guests. Hosts are needed to coordinate each week. We need two people for approximately one hour to make coffee, put out light snacks, and clean up. There is no cost involved. All food and coffee is provided by Reveille. Contact Michele Clements to sign up or for more information.

Garden Committee
These members work each Monday morning during the spring, summer, and fall to care for Reveille’s formal gardens. Gardening experience is not a requirement; just bring a willingness to work and an enjoyment of being outdoors. For more information, contact Donna Ludwig  or Betty Leap.

Greeters
Greeters extend a warm welcome to everyone who comes to worship and other church events. They provide directions as necessary and help guests feel at home. Greeters are needed for all three services.

Reveille Day
The congregation celebrates Reveille Day, typically in September, with a special worship service and a church-wide meal. People are needed to serve on the team that organizes the meal. Check back for the 2017 Reveille Day date. Learn more

Reveille Today and New Members
This group leads Reveille Today classes  and coordinates New Member Sunday celebrations.

Wonderful Wednesday
Wonderful Wednesday is our weekly fellowship opportunity, featuring  dinner followed by worship. From September through May, dinner starts at 5:30 pm each Wednesday, with worship at 6:45 pm, in the chapel. Donations are requested to help defray the cost of the meal. Child care is provided free of charge for children four and under, 6:30-7:45 pm. Learn more

Witness and Engagement Committee
This ministry area coordinates the ways Reveille welcomes and engages members and visitors and the ways we witness our faith, including the ministries listed on this page. The committee meets monthly to review the status of the ministries and to provide any assistance and oversight needed.
