Thursdays in February: Join the Chancel Choir
Please join the Chancel Choir as we prepare to offer Joseph Haydn’s,“The Creation: Part One,” as the masterwork for our Mission Benefit Concert, on May 21. We will rehearse this great masterwork 7:45-8:30 pm Thursdays. Please invite others to come join you! Dr. Charles Staples, director of music at Trinity UMC, Richmond, will conduct, and accompaniment will be provided by chamber orchestra. February 13: Reveille Ringers Handbell Workshop at UMFS
Enjoy beautiful handbell music with the residents of UMFS at 6:00 pm. Stay for a dinner following the handbell workshop. More details coming soon.

February 26: Dialogues on Race Worship Celebration
The Dialogues on Race series wraps up with a worship service with members and choirs from Koinonia Christian Church and Love Center of Unity. Reveille’s children’s and youth choirs will be involved in worship. Please note: We will not hold our regular Sunday evening activities on February 26. Details

April 26: Swansboro Elementary Chorus and Reveille Children's Choir in Concert

May 21: Mission Benefit Concert
Reveille UMC and Trinity UMC perform Haydn's "Creation," 7:00 pm, in the sanctuary.

June 25-30: Music and Worship Arts Week at Lake Junaluska
A week-long choir camp for active youth choir members. Please turn in your $100 deposit to Cathy Armistead by February 12 to secure  your spot.

July 20-23: Youth Mini Mission Trip
The youth will travel to Northern Virginia for performances and mission opportunities. More details available soon.

August 7-10: Kaleidoscope Music, Worship Arts, and Mission Week
A choir camp for rising third-sixth graders. Note the $100 deposit is due by February 12.

February 14: Deadline to Register for Music and Worship Arts Week
Active youth choir members are invited to attend Music and Worship Arts Week at Lake Junaluska, North Carolina, June 19 –24. To register, contact Cathy Armistead and return your $100 deposit by Sunday, February 14. Make checks payable to Reveille UMC. Learn more and watch a recap of last year’s event

February 22: Reveille Ringers Handbell Workshop at UMFS 
The Reveille Ringers, in collaboration with Reveille's UMFS ministry, hosted a dinner and handbell workshop on Monday, February 22, at United Methodist Family Services. Learn more
February 10: Ash Wednesday
Special music will be offered by the Chancel Choir and Reveille Ringers at our Ash Wednesday evening worship service starting at 6:45 pm in the sanctuary. Learn more about Ash Wednesday.

April 13: Swansboro and Reveille Children in Concert
The Swansboro Elementary School choir and Reveille UMC children’s choirs presented a concert on Wednesday, April 13, at 6:45 pm in the Reveille sanctuary. Donations were accepted at the door to benefit Reveille’s Swansboro Community Ministries, which supports ministries in Swansboro such as Dancing Classrooms and Kaleidoscope music camp scholarships. May 1: Oh, Jonah! 
We were uplifted by the energy of our talented children in this fun-filled rendition of the biblical story of Jonah. Oh Jonah! was presented by our children’s vocal and handbell choirs on Sunday, May 1, at 4:00 pm in the sanctuary. 
Oh Jonah! was composed by Allen Pote, with text by Allen Pote and Carole McCann.

May 2: Reveille Ringers at The Hermitage
Our adult handbell choir, the Reveille Ringers, presented a concert at The Hermitage at 7:00 pm on Monday, May 2 in celebration of residents' May birthdays.

May 22 : Elijah by Felix Mendelssohn
Reveille is thrilled to offer selections from Elijah, by Felix Mendelssohn. The oratorio depicts events in the life of the Biblical prophet Elijah.
This musical gem, composed 170 years ago, was offered as a joint effort with Trinity UMC on Sunday, May 22, at 7:00 pm in Reveille’s sanctuary, conducted by Dr. Charles Staples, director of music at Trinity. This is Reveille’s annual Mission Benefit Concert, with donations benefiting Reveille’s Swansboro Community Ministries, which supports ministries in Swansboro such as Dancing Classrooms and Kaleidoscope music camp scholarships. June 19-24: Music and Worship Arts Week at Lake Junaluska

July 9-17: Youth Music Mission to New Orleans

August 1-4: Kaleidoscope Music and Missions Camp
Kaleidoscope Music, Worship Arts, and Missions Week is a camp for children entering grades 3-6. In addition to daily choir rehearsals, Kaleidoscope participants joined in many activities and classes exploring the theme “Reflections of God” through handbells, music, games, scripture, worship, and recreation. This year the camp was held at Reveille UMC, August 1-4. Photos
Summer Choir 
Summer choir sings for the 11:00 am worship service June 5-September 4. There are no weekday rehearsals for summer choir. Simply come to the choir room at 10:30 am on the Sundays you are able, learn the anthem, and sing as part of the service choir for that day. All ages are welcome and many have enjoyed making this a family affair! 
Thursday, September 1: Adult Choirs Kickoff
Chancel Choir and Reveille Ringers: Come to the kickoff celebration for the new season on Thursday, September 1, 6:30 pm, at the Armistead’s home. Bring a friend who may be interested in joining us this year. The entrée will be furnished. Please bring a side dish, dessert, or appetizer to share, and be ready for fellowship, food, and fun! 

Adult Choirs Fall Kickoffs
The first Chancel Choir rehearsal will be Thursday, September 8, 7:00 pm, in the choir room – all voice parts are needed. The first Reveille Ringers rehearsal will be Monday, September 12, 7:00 pm, in the sanctuary. Interested in joining one of our adult choirs? Contact Cathy Armistead.

Sunday, September 11: Reveille Day 
Chancel Choir, CrossPoint, and Youth Choir members will lead music for our Reveille Day worship service at 10:30 am in the sanctuary on Sunday, September 11. Members are reminded to come to the sanctuary at 10:00 am for a warmup.

September 11 and 18: Youth & Children’s Choirs Kickoffs
Children’s choirs, youth choir, and instrumental ensemble begin again on Reveille Day, September 11. Instrumental ensemble begins at 4:00 pm, with youth choir at 4:30 pm, and all children’s choirs between 4:30 and 6:30 pm. Youth bells kickoff the following Sunday, September 18, at 4:00 pm. Learn more about our new Sunday evening schedule.

Cancelled: October 14: Elementary Choir Laser Quest
This event has been cancelled due to busy family schedules. Look for information about rescheduling this outing at a later date.

Sing Messiah
Come rehearse Messiah with the Chancel Choir on Thursdays at 7:45 pm in preparation for the Christmas Concert on December 11. 

November 18-19: Youth Choir JAM
River Road Church, Baptist
Youth Choir JAM, now in it’s 22nd season, took place at River Road Church, Baptist, on November 18 and 19. The group was under the direction of highly-acclaimed clinician and composer Mark Burrows, from First UMC in Dallas, Texas. On Friday night after the final rehearsal, the choir went to the movies. 

November 19: Youth Choir JAM Festival Concert
Everyone was invited to the festival concert on Saturday, November 19, 3:00 pm, at River Road Church, Baptist (8000 River Rd, Richmond, 23229). Photos

December 11: Christmas Concert and Open House
An open house was held at 3:30 pm, followed by the Christmas Concert at 4:00 pm. All Reveille choirs participated in singing carols of the season with a focus on peace.  The chancel choir sang selections from Handel’s “Messiah.”  The theme is “And on Earth, Peace…" Photos

December 28: Reveille Ringers at The Jefferson 

The Reveille Ringers performed at The Jefferson Hotel and celebrated the season during this festive concert.
