2017 Music Ministry Events

June 25-30: Music and Worship Arts Week at Lake Junaluska
A week-long choir camp for active youth choir members. 

July 20-23: Youth Mini Mission Trip
The youth will travel to Northern Virginia for performances and mission opportunities. 


August 7-10: Kaleidoscope Music, Worship Arts, and Mission Week
A choir camp for rising third-sixth graders. The Kaleidoscope camp is a fun-filled week of singing, ringing, drumming, Orff, crafts, mission work, and recreation. This year's camp will be held at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Midlothian. James Wells, a nationally known choir clinician from Brentwood UMC in Tennessee will be the director. Past 2017 Music Ministry Events

April 26: Swansboro Elementary Chorus and Reveille Children's Choir in Concert
The Swansboro Elementary School Children’s Choir and Reveille’s Children’s Choirs will hold a very special concert at 6:45 pm, Wednesday, April 26. Before the concert, join us for the Wonderful Wednesday meal at 5:30 pm.

May 7: Youth Sunday
Reveille’s youth will lead all three worship services on Sunday, May 7. Come hear the word of God from our talented and dedicated youth group and youth choirs. Sermons and testimonies will also be offered by the class of 2017.

May 7: Children's Choirs Musical
Reveille’s talented children’s choirs, led by Assistant Director of Music Tamara Nicely, will offer their spring musical, It’s Cool in the Furnace, by Buryl Red. This classic musical is based on the Old Testament story in the Book of Daniel. Make plans to attend the performance at Reveille, May 7, at 4:00 pm. 

May 15: Reveille Ringers at The Hermitage
Join the Reveille Ringers for their annual outreach to The Hermitage, Monday, May 15, at 7:00 pm. 
 

The Reveille Ringers will play a concert for the May birthday celebration sponsored by the Frances Carroll Circle.

May 21: Mission Benefit Concert
The 24th Annual Mission Benefit Concert, will take place on Sunday, May 21, at 7:00 pm in the sanctuary. The featured masterwork will be selections from Joseph Haydn’s The Creation. Reveille’s Chancel Choir will be joined by members of Trinity UMC’s Chancel Choir and community singers. The concert will be conducted by Trinity UMC Director of Music Ministries and Organist Dr. Charles Staples, and accompanied by a chamber orchestra. The Reveille Ringers will begin the concert with several pieces, including one based on a popular movie. A catered reception will follow the concert in the fellowship hall. Donations will be accepted to benefit Reveille’s UMFS Ministry, which empowers high-risk children, their families, and communities throughout Virginia.
