When we join the United Methodist Church, we pledge to support it with our prayers, our presence, our gifts, our service, and our witness. By engaging in these areas, we help deepen our spiritual life and put our faith into action.
Prayer is the spiritual discipline that transforms faith from abstract belief into intimate experience. Prayer is about listening to God, seeking God’s will, and pouring out to our loving God the deep longings of our hearts as we ask for God’s help in our own lives and in the lives of others. We pray as part of our weekly worship service, and we encourage you to add prayer into your daily routine as well.
Being present for weekly worship is a crucial part of our Christian life, as is participation in small group study with other Christians. Coming together with fellow Christians each Sunday to worship God helps ground us in the knowledge that God is the center of our life, and it helps equip us to live as faithful Christians each day of the week. Regular study gives participants a chance to support and learn from one another as they discern God’s will together through reflection and prayer.Reveille offers three worship services each Sunday morning.
8:30 am – An intimate worship service in the chapel
9:30 am – The Point, a contemporary worship service in the fellowship hall
11:00 am – Our largest worship service, with a traditional United Methodist liturgy, held in the sanctuary In addition, Reveille offers an array of study opportunities, including Sunday morning Sunday School and small groups throughout the week.
God has blessed us with many gifts, both spiritual and financial, and God calls us to give a portion of those back to do God’s work in the world. Each fall, we ask members to submit a pledge card to indicate the financial gifts they will give to Reveille the following year. Submitting a pledge card is a very important spiritual act for the giver, both as a sign of your financial covenant with God and as a response to all the blessings God has poured out in your life.
We are most effective and most fulfilled in our service to God when we use our own unique set of spiritual gifts to become involved in ministry areas where we can offer those gifts to do God’s work. We encourage you to take the spiritual gifts assessment to discern your own gifts, and then use the ministry manual to identify a ministry area where you can start using those gifts in God’s service.
In the Great Commission, Jesus called us to “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” Reveille strives to respond to Jesus’s calling through the work of several important ministries: the Witness & Welcome Ministry helps us welcome and minister to guests and visitors to our church, the Outreach & Missions Ministry helps us spread our faith outside the church walls, and the Discipleship Ministry helps us learn more about our faith and how to live as Christian disciples.
